Upon hearing any production from the Los Angeles producer, songwriter, and artist Gnealz, you can immediately detect his signature style. His journey kicked off back in middle school. He befriended another budding musical talent—none other than phenom Bighead—and started creating music. Between winning various statewide hip-hop dance competitions, production called to him.
Relocating to the City of Angels in 2014, he roomed with his producer uncle whose credits include O.G. icons such as Wu-Tang Clan and Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Gnealz expanded his talents behind the board, engineering for the likes of 21 Savage and Playboi Carti.
2015 saw A$AP Mob affiliate Key! enlist him to produce his entire critically acclaimed Martin Luther Key project. He quietly grinded, cooking up Famous Dex’s “Where?” [feat. Go Yayo] and “New K” in addition to “Ghost” for Carti. Introduced to Lil Pump by Smokepurpp in 2017, he fostered a connection with both artists.
As a result, one of the biggest songs of the year, Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang,” came to life. Not only did the track clock over 70 million Spotify streams and 40 million YouTube/VEVO views in under three months, but it also staked out a spot in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. His stamp will undoubtedly resound throughout music for a long time to come.
